The county-wide order would prohibit residents from any outdoor burning that may create a public safety hazard, including but not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Barrel burning commonly referred to as refuse\/garbage burning<\/li>\n<li>Campfires<\/li>\n<li>Charcoal grills<\/li>\n<li>Chimineas<\/li>\n<li>Cooking fires (barbeque grills and pits that are in the ground)<\/li>\n<li>Fire pits<\/li>\n<li>Fire rings<\/li>\n<li>Fireworks (except for professional commercial fireworks displays)<\/li>\n<li>Patio heaters<\/li>\n<li>Prescribed burns commonly referred to as controlled burns<\/li>\n<li>Welders or cutting torches <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">unless<\/span> the user has on hand adequate fire suppression equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cOpen burning\u201d does not include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fireplaces within buildings<\/li>\n<li>Gas grills<\/li>\n<li>Fire training by professionally trained and authorized personnel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Smoking (cigarette butts, cigars, etc.) is not banned; however, citizens must use ashtrays and proper disposal containers.<\/p>\n<p>Any individual who willfully violates a burn ban is guilty of an infraction ($500 fine; 2<sup>nd<\/sup> offense may be charged as a Class B misdemeanor-1 year and $1,000).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A county-wide burn ban has been reinstated by the Nolan County Commission, and effective immediately as the area continues to lack precipitation.
