No permit required to hunt antlerless deer unless <abbr title=\"Managed Lands Deer\">MLD<\/abbr> permits have been issued for the property.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bag Limit:<\/strong> 5 deer, no more than 2 bucks, all seasons combined.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>General Season<\/strong>: Nov. 2, 2013-Jan. 5, 2014.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Special Late General Season:<\/strong> Jan. 6-19, 2014 (antlerless and spike buck deer only).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Special Youth-Only Season:<\/strong> Early open season: Oct. 26-27, 2013. Late open season: Jan. 6-19, 2014.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bag limits, provision for the take of antlerless deer, and special requirements of the county, shall be as specified for the first 2 days of the general open season.<\/p>\n<p>Licensed hunters 16 years of age or younger may hunt deer by any lawful means during this season.<\/p>\n<h2>Javelina:<\/h2>\n<p>Open Season: October 1-February 24. <strong>Bag Limit:<\/strong> 2.<\/p>\n<h2>Squirrel:<\/h2>\n<p>No closed season. No bag limit.<\/p>\n<h2>Turkey<\/h2>\n<p>The annual bag limit for turkey, in the aggregate for all counties, is four (4), no more than one of which may be an Eastern turkey.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fall:<\/strong> Open season: Nov. 2, 2013-Jan. 5, 2014 (either sex).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Archery Only:<\/strong> Sept. 28-Nov. 1, 2013.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Special youth-only (general)<\/strong> fall turkey season: Oct. 26-27, 2013, and Jan. 18-19, 2014. Only licensed hunters 16 years of age or younger may hunt turkey during this season. Bag limit as specified by the general fall turkey season.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Spring:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Rio Grande<\/strong><strong> turkey:<\/strong> Open season: Mar. 29-May 11, 2014 (Gobblers and bearded hens).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Special Youth-Only (<\/strong><strong>Rio Grande<\/strong><strong> turkey):<\/strong> Open season: Mar. 22-23, 2014 and May 17-18, 2014.<\/p>\n<h2>Quail:<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Statewide: <\/strong>Open season: Oct. 26, 2013-Feb. 23, 2014. Daily bag limit: 15 Possession limit: 45<\/p>\n<h2>Dove:<\/h2>\n<p>The area north of Interstate Highway 20 is in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tpwd.state.tx.us\/huntwild\/hunt\/season\/animal_listing\" target=\"_blank\">North Zone<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The remainder of the county is in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tpwd.state.tx.us\/huntwild\/hunt\/season\/migratory_game\/dove_hunt_zones\/\" target=\"_blank\">Central Zone<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Note: Please read the Advisories and notes on the TPWD website.
