Burglary of Building (Sweetwater)

The Nolan County Sheriff’s Office and Texas State Technical College Police are investigating a burglary that occurred on the TSTC campus, located in the 300 block of Homer K. Taylor Drive, in Sweetwater. It was reported that sometime between December 17, 2014 and January 15, 2015, an unknown person(s) entered the welding center. Once inside, the thieve(s) took four (4) welding machines, and two (2) pipe beveling devices. The combined value of the property taken is estimated at approximately $11,300.00.

Investigators with the 32nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office, the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office, and Roscoe Police Department are actively searching for a 28 year old fugitive, who’s been dodging the long arm of the law. Jessie Lee Deboard is wanted on warrant #11789 that was issued out of the 32nd Judicial District Court on January 14, 2015, for the offense of Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon. Deboard has reported to be unemployed, and is last known to be living at either 111 Neeves Street in Roby, or most recent reported address, 210 Newman Street in Sweetwater. Deboard stands tall at 6’6”, weighs 250lbs, and has brown hair and blue eyes.

Burglary of Habitation (Sweetwater)

On Saturday, January 10, 2015, the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a Burglary of Habitation that occurred in the 5000 block of Highway 70, in Sweetwater. It was reported that sometime between Sunday, January 4, 2015 and Saturday, January 10, 2015, an unknown person(s) entered the property. Once on the property, the theive(s) entered a residence and took numerous firearms, televisions and other miscellaneous property. This burglary is currently under investigation, and the value of the items taken has not yet been estimated.

Vehicle Inspection and Registration processes effective March 1, 2015

The Nolan County Sheriff’s Office wants to make citizens aware of the new Vehicle Inspection and Registration processes that will take effect March 1, 2015.

Vehicle owners will be issued one sticker as proof of inspection and registration. Inspection stations will no longer issue inspection stickers.

Step One
Vehicles will be required to pass a vehicle inspection, you will retain the vehicle inspection report issued to you by the station.

Step Two
When renewing your annual registration by mail, online, or in person, your vehicle inspection status will be verified electronically. A passing inspection is required for registration.

If your vehicle passed inspection, but the system is unable to electronically verify it, simply present your valid, passing Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) at the time of registration.
