On Friday, August 28, 2015, at approximately 450pm, an expired registration decal prompted the stop of a Toyota truck in Sweetwater, leading to the arrest of one occupant and seizure of a substance determined to be methamphetamine.
A Nolan County deputy stopped a black Toyota Tundra driven by Laura Honeycutt, of Sweetwater for expired registration in the 300 block of Neff Street. She was accompanied by passenger, also of Sweetwater. Both occupants were requested to exit the vehicle where a roadside investigation could be conducted.
While speaking with Honeycutt, indicators of criminal activity were observed. Additionally, during the last contact with Honeycutt, the deputy had recovered stolen property from the same vehicle; consent to search was requested and received. A search of the vehicle was conducted which lead to the discovery of a substance determined to be methamphetamine.
Honeycutt was placed under arrest and transported to the Nolan County jail where she was charged with the felony offense of possession of methamphetamine. The case will be filed with the 32nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
