Burglary of Vehicle (Lake Sweetwater)

On Friday, June 17, 2016, deputies responded to the report of a burglary of vehicle at the Lake Sweetwater dam area. It was reported that sometime on Friday, June 17, 2016, an unknown person(s) went to a vehicle that was parked unoccupied and broke a window. The thieve(s) then entered the vehicle and took purse and its contents. The purse and property have a combined value of approximately $480.00.

Traffic Stop leads to an arrest and seizure of suspected marijuana and the recovery of a stolen firearm

TAYLOR, TREYVONN TRAVISOn Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at approximately 6AM, a Nolan County deputy stopped a white Chrysler sedan for a minor traffic infraction in the 1100 block of Campbell. Contact was made with the driver, Treyvonn Travis Taylor, of Sweetwater who was accompanied by another male passenger.

Two Sweetwater Police Officers that were nearby responded and assisted the deputy. During a roadside investigation, the deputy detected indicators of criminal activity that subsequently lead to the discovery of suspected Marijuana and the recovery of a stolen firearm.

Mr. Taylor was placed under arrest and transported to the Nolan County jail where he was charged with the felony offense of Theft of Firearm. This case will be filed with the 32nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Theft (Roscoe/Highland)

On Tuesday, May 24, 2016, Deputies responded to the report of a theft in 7900 block of Farm to Market Road 608, Roscoe, Texas. It was reported that sometime between Friday, May 20, 2016 and Sunday, Sunday, May 22, 2016, an unknown person(s) cut a section of fence, entered the property, and took a black utility trailer that was loaded with a large welding machine, and other welding equipment. The combined value of the property taken is estimated at approximately $7,000.00.

Traffic Stop leads to three arrests and seizure of suspected methamphetamine

CLARK, CASEY PAUL LEDESMA, JOHN WESLEY MURGUIA, DANICA LEIGH

On Saturday, May 7, 2016, just after midnight, a Nolan County deputy stopped a gray Nissan sedan for a minor traffic infraction. Contact was made with the driver, Casey Clark, of Aspermont who was accompanied by passengers, John Ledesma, of Granbury and Danica Murguia, also of Aspermont.

During a roadside investigation, the deputy detected indicators of criminal activity; thereafter consent to search the vehicle was requested and received. A State Trooper that was nearby responded and assisted the deputy while a search of the vehicle was conducted, that subsequently lead to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine. As other deputies arrived, the trooper then assisted the deputy in the search and discovered more suspected methamphetamine.

All three occupants were placed under arrest and transported to the Nolan County jail where they were charged with the felony offense of possession of methamphetamine. This case will be filed with the 32nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Traffic Stop leads to two warrant arrests and seizure of suspected methamphetamine

BROWN, RAIMEE K-LYNNOn Thursday, April 21, 2016, at approximately 2:30pm, a Nolan County deputy stopped a black Saturn SUV, in the 400 block of Walnut, Sweetwater for a minor traffic infraction. Contact was then made with the driver, of Sweetwater who was accompanied by Raimee Brown and Taylor Morgan, both of Sweetwater.

A roadside investigation was conducted where Nolan County Constable Stephen Smith II was present to assist. During the investigation, Ms. Brown and Ms. Morgan were both found to have outstanding felony warrants and were arrested. During the arrest, Constable Smith discovered Ms. Brown to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

Ms. Brown and Ms. Morgan were both placed under arrest and transported to the Nolan County jail where they were processed on the outstanding warrants. Ms. Brown was charged with an additional felony offense of possession of methamphetamine. This case will be filed with the 32nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Nolan County Sheriff’s Office looking for owners of stolen property

During several ongoing Investigations, Nolan County deputies seized stolen property from several residences in Sweetwater. Investigators have been busy sorting through the property and have completed an inventory and compiled the following list. We would like to return these items to their rightful owner, and are asking anyone who may have been a victim of a theft or burglary to look over the list, and come forward.
