On Friday, June 17, 2016, deputies responded to the report of a burglary of vehicle at the Lake Sweetwater dam area. It was reported that sometime on Friday, June 17, 2016, an unknown person(s) went to a vehicle that was parked unoccupied and broke a window. The thieve(s) then entered the vehicle and took purse and its contents. The purse and property have a combined value of approximately $480.00.

Theft (Roscoe/Highland)

On Tuesday, May 24, 2016, Deputies responded to the report of a theft in 7900 block of Farm to Market Road 608, Roscoe, Texas. It was reported that sometime between Friday, May 20, 2016 and Sunday, Sunday, May 22, 2016, an unknown person(s) cut a section of fence, entered the property, and took a black utility trailer that was loaded with a large welding machine, and other welding equipment. The combined value of the property taken is estimated at approximately $7,000.00.

Criminal Mischief (Nolan)

HWY153The Nolan County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for the person responsible for destroying a grouping of mailboxes near the Highway 153 and Farm to Market Road 126 intersection in Nolan. It was reported that on Friday, February 5, 2016, during the mid-morning hours residents heard a loud crash and later found their mailboxes had been completely destroyed. A Nolan County deputy responded to the area and conducted a preliminary investigation, where evidence was collected for processing. At this point, we feel that it’s more about the memories of the mailboxes and poles they were attached to. One of the poles was 80 years old. These people took care of them and are unhappy that someone plowed them down like that.

We are asking for assistance from the community to identify the person(s) responsible for this senseless act and help bring them to justice. Theft (Roscoe)

The Nolan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a theft that occurred at the Stripes Convenience Store located at 1101 Main Street in Roscoe. It was reported that on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at approximately 2:37AM, a Hispanic male entered the store and after distracting an employee, he took a carton of Marlboro Red cigarettes valued at approximately $58.99. A witness reported the suspect vehicle to be a newer model red Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck. In the video compilation, (click here to view video) the Hispanic male can be heard speaking in a heavy Mexican accent; he stands tall at approximately 6’, weighs 180lbs, wears a beard and has dark colored hair.

Burglary of Habitation (Maryneal)

On Saturday, September 5, 2015, the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a Burglary of Habitation that occurred in the 12000 block of Farm to Market 608, Maryneal, Texas. It was reported that sometime between Wednesday, September 2, 2015 and Saturday, September 5, 2015, an unknown person(s) entered the property. Once on the property, the suspect(s) used force, entered a cabin and took four (4) firearms, two (2) chainsaws, and a laptop computer. The combined value of the items taken, as well as damage to the property is estimated at approximately $4,049.00.

On Friday, July 24, 2015, at approximately 12:25PM, an unknown male subject entered a custodian closet located inside the Nolan County Courthouse, and took an 18 volt cordless drill and a tool bag containing an assortment of tools. The accompanying photographs depict the actual burglary as it occurred.
