Sheriff David Warren swears in new Deputy

Sheriff David Warren swore in a new deputy on Thursday, September 7, 2017. Deputy Eddy Hernandez took his oath of office and received his badge in the presence of family and friends to commemorate this special occasion. His mother was present at the ceremony and pinned the badge on him.

Deputy Hernandez began his law enforcement career in December 2015, and was assigned to the communications section of the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office. He worked as a telecommunicator while attending the West Central Texas Law Enforcement Academy, in Abilene, and was among a total of 24 cadets who graduated training on August 30, 2017, acquiring the title, Texas Peace Officer.

We wish Deputy Hernandez the best and look forward to his service.

The Nolan County Sheriff’s Office welcomes new Deputy

Steven Guerra was sworn in Monday morning at the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office as the newest deputy sheriff. In attendance at the swearing in were a couple of his new colleagues including, Sheriff David Warren.

Steven is a native of Dumas, Texas, and a 2011 Canadian High School graduate. He graduated from the Panhandle Regional Law Enforcement Academy, in Amarillo, and has been in law enforcement for three years, including working as a patrol officer for the Dumas Police Department, and a patrol deputy for the Sherman County Sheriff’s Office.

Sergeant Promotion at NCSO

James Villanueva promoted to Sergeant 12-16-2015Effective Wednesday, December 16, 2015, NCSO Deputy James Villanueva will be promoted to the rank of Sergeant at NCSO.  Villanueva has been with the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office for almost 10 years and has worked his way up from Jailer to Patrol Deputy to Criminal Investigator and now the level of Sergeant.  “Sgt. Villanueva’s duties will be changing and certainly additional duties added, however he will still assume responsibility for criminal investigations with the NCSO.  James Villanueva is a very dedicated and hardworking employee and now an integral part of the supervision team. James is quite capable and I know he will be able to handle anything that is expected of him and more.”  Sheriff David Warren said.  Villanueva assumes the Sergeant slot vacated by long time NCSO employee, Brock Carter, who recently was selected for the Chief’s position at the police department on the campus of TSTC – Sweetwater.

Deputies hone their skills…to better serve their communities!

During the training, all Peace Officers in attendance were apprised of the newest state laws. This is a required course every two years for all Texas Peace Officers.

Rodriguez sworn-in as deputy

RODRIGUEZ, RANDELLRandall Rodriguez was sworn-in as the newest Deputy of the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office by Sheriff David Warren, Tuesday, October 27, 2015. Rodriguez recently graduated from the South Plains Law Enforcement Academy, passed his State TCOLE exam and is now on his way to his new career in law enforcement. Congratulations, Deputy Rodriguez!
