The Nolan County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for the person responsible for destroying a grouping of mailboxes near the Highway 153 and Farm to Market Road 126 intersection in Nolan. It was reported that on Friday, February 5, 2016, during the mid-morning hours residents heard a loud crash and later found their mailboxes had been completely destroyed. A Nolan County deputy responded to the area and conducted a preliminary investigation, where evidence was collected for processing. At this point, we feel that it’s more about the memories of the mailboxes and poles they were attached to. One of the poles was 80 years old. These people took care of them and are unhappy that someone plowed them down like that.
We are asking for assistance from the community to identify the person(s) responsible for this senseless act and help bring them to justice.
