Traffic Stop leads to an arrest and seizure of suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia

george-burrowsOn Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at approximately 1230AM, a Nolan County deputy stopped a black sedan, in the 1300 block of East 12th Street for several minor traffic infractions. Contact was then made with the driver, George Burrows, of Sweetwater.

During a roadside investigation, the deputy detected indicators of criminal activity that lead to the arrest of Mr. Burrows and the discovery of suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

Mr. Burrows was transported to the Nolan County jail where he was charged with a misdemeanor offense that will be filed with the County Attorney’s Office and the felony offense of Manufacture or Delivery that will be filed with the 32nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

raquel-sharrockOn Monday, September 19, 2016, a Nolan County deputy stopped a black sedan in the 1400 block of Wardale for a minor traffic infraction. Contact was made with the driver, Raquel Juelice Sharrock, of Sweetwater who was accompanied by a passenger, also of Sweetwater.

During a roadside investigation, the deputy detected indicators of criminal activity, which later led to the discovery of several packages of suspected marijuana.

Ms. Sharrock was arrested and transported to the Nolan County jail where she was charged with the misdemeanor offense of possession of marijuana. This case will be filed with the County Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

WILLIAMS, ELITA WEST, D’JAMANOn Monday, August 29, 2016, a Nolan County deputy stopped a white sedan in the 2100 block of Lamar for a minor traffic infraction. Contact was made with the driver, D’Jaman West, of San Antonio who was accompanied by passenger, Elita Williams, of Sweetwater.

During a roadside investigation, the deputy detected indicators of criminal activity, which later led to the discovery of a substantial quantity of suspected marijuana that was concealed within the vehicle; also located was paraphernalia used in its consumption. Assisting the deputy in the traffic stop were DPS, Colorado City and Sweetwater Police units.

Mr. West and Ms. Williams were both arrested and transported to the Nolan County jail where they were charged with the felony offense of possession of marijuana. This case will be filed with the 32nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
