Burglary of Habitation (Sweetwater)

On Saturday, July 29, 2017, the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary that occurred in the 200 block of Skelly Lane, in Sweetwater. It was reported that on Saturday, July 29, sometime between the hours of 9:15AM and 10:51AM, an unknown person entered the residence. Once inside, the thieve(s) rummaged through the residence, located and took $100.00 in United States Currency.

Traffic Stop leads to an arrest and seizure of suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia

On Friday, July 21, 2017, a Nolan County deputy stopped a red Ford Escape in the 100 block of Dent Street, for a minor traffic infraction. Contact was then made with the driver, Bobby Wilhite, of Sweetwater who was accompanied by a passenger, also of Sweetwater.

During a roadside investigation, the deputy detected indicators of criminal activity which subsequently lead to a Sweetwater Police K9 being utilized. Thereafter, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted which lead to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia commonly used in its consumption.

Mr. Wilhite was placed under arrest and transported to the Nolan County jail where he was charged with the felony offense of possession of controlled substance. This case will be filed with the 32nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Criminal Mischief (Roscoe)

On Thursday, July 20, 2017, the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office received a report of criminal mischief that occurred in the 400 block of Oak Street, in Roscoe. It was reported that sometime between Thursday, July 13, 2017 and Thursday, July 20, 2017, an unknown person drove a vehicle through a fence, and destroyed several sections of the fencing. Damages are estimated at approximately $750.00.

Nolan County Sheriff’s Office looking for owners of found property

On Thursday, July 13, 2017, Investigators with the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of found property nearest the intersection of county road 144 and 228, in Sweetwater. When investigators arrived, they located a multi drawer stack-able style toolbox that contained an assortment of mechanics tools. The following list of the recovered property was compiled. We would like to return these items to their rightful owner, and are asking anyone who may have been a victim of a theft or burglary or that may have just lost these items to look over the list, and come forward. Theft (Sweetwater)

On Monday, July 17, 2017, the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft that occurred in the 300 block of county road 252, in Sweetwater. It was reported that sometime between Sunday, July 16, 2017, at 7:30PM and Monday, July 17, 2017, at 11:30AM, an unknown person(s) traveled onto the property. Once inside, the thieve(s) took an all-terrain vehicle, and with it, the thieve(s) also took numerous power and hand tools. The combined value of the items taken and damage to the property is estimated at approximately $6,050.00.

Burglary of Vehicle (Roscoe)

On Wednesday 13, 2017, the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a Burglary that occurred in the 500 block of county road 182, in Roscoe. It was reported that sometime between Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at 4:00PM and Thursday, July 13, 2017, at 7:00AM, an unknown person(s) traveled onto the property, and used force to enter a vehicle. Once inside, the thieve(s) took a CB radio, an antenna, and a tie bar. The combined value of the items taken and damage to the property is estimated at approximately $1,250.00.
