Nolan County/City of Sweetwater has a new emergency and mass notification provider. The transition from DeltAlert to the industry-leading, high-speed mass notification system, CodeRED®, began earlier this year.
The transition to CodeRED will offer Nolan County/City of Sweetwater citizens the access to patented technologies that were not available with the previous provider. Public safety officials at Nolan County/City of Sweetwater will be able to more effectively communicate time-sensitive messages using the CodeRED system’s robust dialing infrastructure that is entirely managed by its parent company, Emergency Communications Network. This access will allow calls to be delivered seconds after County or City officials launch a message. Additionally, Nolan County/City of Sweetwater will have the ability to better target notifications geographically, only notifying those community members impacted by an alert.
Nolan County/City of Sweetwater’s residents who previously registered with DeltAlert have been transferred to the new CodeRED system, however all residents of Nolan County/City of Sweetwater are encouraged to update their existing information and enroll additional contact information through the Nolan County/City of Sweetwater’s enrollment page. To ensure you are included in the new CodeRED database, please visit the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office website at www.nolanso.com and click on the CodeRED logo. Residents are encouraged to enroll cellphone numbers, email addresses and business contact information.

As a new notification feature, Nolan County/City of Sweetwater will also send alerts to subscribers of the CodeRED Mobile Alert app. The Mobile Alert app provides users geo-based public safety alerts that impact them at their current location. The app provides an additional method for Nolan County/City of Sweetwater to communicate messages to not only local residents, but also to those traveling through the area. “Once you download the free app, even if you travel to another CodeRED community, you will be notified of those alerts directly on your smartphone.
