Video Visitation
It is the policy of the Nolan County Sheriff's Office to provide adequate visitation for inmates incarcerated in the Nolan County Jail. Inmates incarcerated over forty-eight (48) hours are eligible for visitation if not suspended by disciplinary punishment restrictions.

Business weeks start on Sunday mornings and end on Saturday nights. Inmates will be allowed two (2) twenty (20) minute visits per week, and may exhaust both on the same day.

Video Visitation will be available 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Visitors must dial to register in advance for any of the above specified times and specified days. If a visitor is properly registered, inmate visitation will continue until all approved visitors have been afforded their visit with the inmate.

The jailer supervising visitation or higher authority may cancel or terminate inmate visitation if an emergency situation warrants such action.

All persons wishing to visit an inmate in the Nolan County Jail must meet the following requirements:

Identification of Visitors

Visitors are required to provide a valid form of identification upon arrival for visit. Identification must include a photograph, and birthdate or social security number and shall not be expired. All visitors are subject to warrant checks and arrest if wanted. Additionally, visitors suspected of being or who are under the influence of an alcoholic beverage or drug will not be allowed to visit and are subject to arrest.

Minor Visitors

Visitors under seventeen (17) years of age must be in the company of an adult parent (mother or father), legal guardian or legal counsel at all times while in the visitation area. Legal documentation must be provided by the adult accompanying the minor to establish validity of the relationship. Disruptive visitors or children will be directed to leave the visitation area. Small children will not be left unattended, nor will they be allowed to run loose in the visitation area to the point of being disruptive to other visitors or facility staff. A public restroom is available to all visitors.

Visitors Dress Code

Visitors must NOT be wearing tank tops, tube tops, see through shirts/blouses, low cut V-neck shirts/blouses, shorts or skirts shorter than 2 inches above the knee. Any garment worn in such a manner as to arouse the inmates, cause disruption in the jail or deemed as an act of defiance against staff in support of the inmate will not be allowed.

Visitor Conduct Guidelines

NO FOOD OR DRINKS ARE ALLOWED IN THE LOBBY

While in the visitation area you are not allowed to talk to anyone other than the inmate that you are visiting and/or your co-visitor. Cross-visiting with another visitor or talking to an inmate to whom you are not scheduled to visit is prohibited. Lewd or offensive conduct is not permitted and if observed, your visit will be terminated and you will be ordered to leave the facility. Visitors must remain seated at all times while in the visitation area.

Termination of Visits and Prohibited Items (Contraband)

A visit may be terminated and visiting privileges denied, restricted or revoked if any rules or regulations are violated by the visitor or inmate.

Visitors may not use cellular phones or electronic devices during visitation; a violation of this rule may result in felony charges.

Items left out in the lobby or vehicles are left there at your own risk. The Sheriff's Office and its employees are not and will not be responsible for the safekeeping of your property left in the public lobby or outside in a vehicle. Lockers are provided in the lobby.

Per section 38.11 of the Texas Penal Code, "Prohibited Substances and Items in Correctional Facility," certain classes of items such as; alcoholic beverages, controlled substances, dangerous drugs, weapons, cell phones, cash and tobacco products could result in a felony charge and arrest if a visitor provides or possesses with intent to provide such an item to an inmate in violation of Nolan County Jail policies and rules.

Other visitation Guidelines and information

Inmates and visitors are subject to video and audio recording while in the visitation area. An inmate can refuse visitation and does not have to supply a reason for their refusal. If an inmate refuses your visit, you will have to leave the facility. Family and friends may deposit funds into the inmate's commissary account at the Kiosk located in the lobby of the Nolan County Sheriff's Office & Jail.

Exceptions to Visitation Guidelines

Law enforcement officials and other authorized professionals (i.e. attorneys, clergy, court appointed guardians, etc.) may visit during the periods of 8:00AM - 12:00PM; 1:00PM - 6:00PM and 7:00PM - 9:00PM, daily. Professional visits do not need to be scheduled in advance, but a phone call to verify the availability of the inmate may save an unnecessary trip. Visit time will not be counted toward the inmate's regular visiting time for the week. Professional visitors (i.e. attorneys, clergy, court appointed guardians, etc.) must present credentials and proper identification and all rules regarding conduct, contraband and clothing apply just as with any other visitor.
